Prayer Team

Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.  ~Ephesians 6:18

If your heart has a special calling for prayer, we encourage you to join the Westside Prayer Team. You will be actively involved in prayer for Westside Church Members, friends and extended families. Prayer is so vital touching and interceding for the lives of every member of this congregation. The Power of Prayer is enormous! Prayer is an amazing gift we give to others.

For Prayer Team Members

1. Weekly Prayer Requests are sent out by email on Sunday or Monday. Usually a few more prayer requests come through during the week.  All prayer requests are confidential! If you do not have email, arrangements will be made so you get the prayer requests.

2. Pray over the Prayer Requests one or two days a week.  Find a format that works best for you.  A very common one is ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving followed by Supplication of the prayer requests). Typically, the Prayer Requests also contain thanksgiving and answers to prayer. Always let coordinator know about answers to prayer - it is very energizing to the Prayer Team.

3. Prayer Partners: Contact one another at least once a week to pray for each other, church concerns, or the Prayer Request list.  Please let coordinator know when you have picked a Prayer Partner.  

4. Other opportunities for Prayer Team Members:

a. Prayer Room Volunteer – Pray with Pastor Brian and the Worship Team before they go out to do the service (optional). Continue to pray for the service, congregation, and children’s ministries while in the Prayer Room or in the sanctuary.  Prayer for 8:30 service can be done from home.

b. Special Services with prayer for healing Volunteer – Pray for the service while in the sanctuary. Pray for others that request individual confidential prayer. 

c. Volunteer to go and pray for church members that are in the hospital or at their home during times of illness or crisis.  

d. Prayer Walker during certain church events or holiday events.
